BO 20/1000 barriers are circular barriers for protection from solid or liquid wastes and various floating materials on both lakes and seas, easy to install and assemble, and are ideal for containing solid or liquid wastes even in unfavorable marine weather conditions. They are made of sturdy PVC-coated polyester fabric. Buoyancy and buoyancy reserve are provided by special cylindrical templates made of closed-cell expanded polyester of suitable density, inserted inside the fabric by means of heat-sealed pockets. An appropriate ballasted appendage ensures barrier stability and continuity of containment. The tensile strength of the fabrication fabric is greater than 4500 N/5 cm, but as a further guarantee, the chains of the individual modules, used as ballasts, can be spliced together, further increasing the strength of the fabrication. The barrier is supplied in “standard” modules of 20 m or in the sizes specified by the Customer.
The simplicity of construction and the quality of the materials used means that the barrier does not require any special arrangements for maintenance. However, it is essential at the end of each deployment to provide a thorough cleaning before storage.
The BO model was created to meet the needs of use for fixed or semi-fixed barrages; for example, to circumscribe off-shore platforms or the outer docks of refineries. The barrier is provided in orange color.
